Privacy, in plain English.

Effective July 4, 2026. Founder Casebook is built to be used without giving up anything you don’t want to. Here’s exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do.

No accounts

Founder Casebook has no sign-up and no login. You never create a password, and we never ask for one.

Chat conversations

When you use the advisor, your browser generates a random session ID and stores it in your browser’s localStorage— not a cookie, not tied to your name, email, or any account. That session ID is how we keep your conversation with you as you use the chat, and it’s the only “identity” the product has for you.

We store chat conversations anonymously, tied only to that random session ID, in order to:

  • power the product itself (so your conversation persists across a refresh or a flaky connection), and
  • help us understand which questions the advisor answers well and which it doesn’t, so we can improve the underlying prompts and the casebook content.

We do not ask for or knowingly collect your name, and chat content is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising.

Email, only if you give it to us

If you subscribe to get new playbooks by email, we store that email address for exactly that purpose. We never sell it, never share it with advertisers, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand traffic at a high level — pages viewed, rough geography, referrers. It’s cookieless and reports aggregate numbers; it does not track you individually across sites and doesn’t require a cookie banner.

AI processing

Chat messages are processed by Google Gemini, accessed through the Vercel AI Gateway. Your message content is sent to that model in order to generate the advisor’s response. We don’t attach your name or email to that request — only the anonymous session context needed to hold a conversation.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your data, ever, to anyone.
  • We don’t run ad-tracking pixels or third-party ad networks.
  • We don’t require an account to use any part of the product.
